The following article will explain to you what the Air Quality API is, how it works and where you can access it. Keep on reading!
What is the Air Quality API?
The Air Quality API is a web service that provides a real-time estimate of air quality in any given location. Using this information, users can make decisions about their environment, health and safety. The API works by collecting data from a number of sensors and combining it with weather data to predict air quality. Then it sends the data to users in the form of an AQI (Air Quality Index) reading.
Where can I get it?
Currently the API supports queries in English and metric units, so you can use it from anywhere in the world! And it only requires an API key to access it.
How does the Air Quality API work?
Creating an account and obtaining an API key is all you need to begin using this API. Once you have these two things, you can begin making API calls to the Air Quality API endpoint. To make an API call to the endpoint, simply provide an IP address or a location’s latitude and longitude coordinates. The data for your request will be returned in the form of an AQI (air quality index). The following section will explain this in more detail.
How does the call look like?
The first thing that you need to do is create an account on ZylaAPIHub marketplace. After that, you will receive a unique API key that allows you to make calls to the Air Quality API REST endpoint. With your bearer token in hand, simply include it in the Authorization header of your HTTP request to authenticate. Then upload your JSON payload file with all the relevant information. Once you are done doing all these steps, make the call! And wait for a few minutes for your answer.
As I previously mentioned, providing real-time information on air quality is one way to protect our environment and safeguard our health. But there are many other ways too!
