The older a smartphone is, the slower it becomes over time. Software updates not only provide new functions and a better user interface, but also artificially shorten the lifespan of our cell phones.
If you switch this off, the overall performance is no longer quite as smooth, but the performance of your smartphone can be improved somewhat.
Exhibit animations – that's how it works
You can turn off screen animations using the accessibility features in Settings.

To disable the animations, you must first go into the settings:
Select the Accessibility menu item. Go to the Visibility improvements tab and then tap Remove animations. Here you can now use a slider to disable the function and enable it again if necessary.
Alternatively, you can leave animations enabled and turn them down in developer settings. It works like this:
Go to Settings and then About phone. Tap Software information and then tap Build number seven times. Now developer options are enabled and you can find the option at the very bottom of the general settings. Under developer options you can control window animation factor, transition animation factor as well as animation duration factor to improve the functionality of your phone.
